Veterinarian with Brown Cat with Cat Friendly Practice Logo

Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital became a certified Cat Friendly Hospital in 2020. This means that we received certification through the Feline Veterinary Medical Association (formerly American Association of Feline Practitioners). The Cat Friendly Practice® program is a global initiative designed to elevate care for cats by reducing stress and making visits easier for cats and caregivers. This is accomplished by supporting the veterinary team so the entire staff is educated and knowledgeable about your cats’ distinct needs and behaviors. Cat Friendly Practices® must also meet specific criteria within their practice to earn this designation. These include options to reduce stress prior to entering the exam room and implementing best practices to reduce stress throughout the visit.

When you visit a Cat Friendly Practice® you can expect the veterinary team to:

  • Have a deep understanding of how to handle cats in a caring, gentle, and empathic manner

  • Create a feline-friendly environment making vet visits as cat friendly as possible

  • Be knowledgeable of unique needs and behaviors of cats

  • Meet and exceed specific standards for the care of hospitalized cats

  • Possess the appropriate equipment necessary to diagnose and treat feline patients
